Learning Technologies

We are a support department for the Saskatchewan Polytechnic community. We assist programs by ensuring that they have access to user-friendly technologies to enhance learning/classes for our students. Our Learning Technologies teams provide faculty with the tools, training and learning platforms to enhance a student’s education; either through in-person or virtual learning.

At Sask Polytech, instructional designers are both designers and developers. We work closely with faculty to determine how students can best learn via technology. Together, we systematically plan online learning activities, courses, and programs. We also manage development teams for learning materials. Those teams include program faculty and admin staff, reviewers, learning technology trainers, librarians, graphic artists, media specialists, actors, etc.

Instructional designers are both creative and tech-savvy people. We have designed online learning opportunities that are delivered synchronously (to all students at the same time) and asynchronously (to students at different times). We work on large projects (such as entire courses) or smaller projects (such as a single learning activity).
