Welcome to the Saskatchewan Polytechnic community! We want you to get started and feel ready to embrace your academic journey with us.

Student orientation

Join us for a series of orientation programming designed to help you learn about the many supports and services we have available to help you succeed in your studies and enhance your Sask Polytech experience.

Whether you prefer to explore at your own pace or dive right in, we’ve got you covered.  

Self-Guided Orientation is a go-at-your-own-pace online orientation accessible to all incoming students and available to revisit throughout the 2022-23 academic year.

Learn about the supports and services available to you as a student with this online orientation. It’s delivered using Brightspace—Sask Polytech’s online course system—where you’ll soon be logging into your courses.

Official Self-Guided Orientation contest rules
  1. No purchase required
  2. To collect a prize, entrants will be required to answer a skill-testing question.
  3. The contest is open to residents of Saskatchewan enrolled in a Saskatchewan Polytechnic program during the contest dates.
  4. Saskatchewan Polytechnic employees are not eligible to participate in the contest.
  5. This contest is not open to residents of Quebec.
  6. Each entrant may only submit one entry.
  7. The odds of winning this contest will depend upon the total number of entries.
  8. The Prize(s) will be awarded without consideration for regional allocation. Available prizes will decrease as they are awarded.
  9. By participating in this contest, entrants consent to the collection and use of their personal information by Saskatchewan Polytechnic, including name, address, telephone number, social media handles, social media posts, and any images submitted by the entrant by participating in the consent.  This personal information will be used to assess contest entries, to select and contact winners, to award prizes and for administration, marketing and promotional purposes.  Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s Privacy Policy is available online.
  10. Each winner must provide a mailing address and proof of Saskatchewan Polytechnic enrolment to receive a prize.

Virtual Orientation is a series of Zoom-delivered sessions covering various elements of Sask Polytech before you arrive. This multi-pronged approach will help ease you into the ins and outs of our campuses from the comfort of your own home.

On-campus tours

Sask Polytech staff will tour you around the campus and highlight key student spaces to provide you with a better understanding of the full student experience. You will be introduced to the many services available to support your academic journey as well as where your classes will be held. Details:

The Fit and Rec team will share some helpful tips and tricks to make small changes that impact your overall wellness, including weight, Body-Mass Index (BMI), and Body Fat % consultations. We also welcome you to a game of Toss Your Troubles and gain some knowledge on dealing with said troubles with the Counselling team.  

There are many supports and services on campus to enhance your health and wellness journey. Learn more about our wellness resources.

Your academic journey includes connecting with others and building relationships, and Student Relations and Campus Safety and Security can provide some valuable resources.

Details: Join Saskatchewan Polytechnic, in partnership with the YWCA, for a free training session on gender-based violence. You’ll learn positive bystander intervention strategies; hear and about rape culture vs. consent culture; gain an understanding of power, privilege, and intersectionality; and find out why gender-based violence is an issue for everyone, and what you can do to be a good ally. 

This event is part of the 2022 - 23 Shine a Light on Sexual Violence Awareness Campaign, brought to you by the Student Relations Office and the Campus Safety and Security Department.

Sask Polytech’s Career and Employment Services and Student Awards are joining forces to offer a Zoom information session.
