wîcihitowin Transition Program

The wîcihitowin Transition Program, previously known as the Summer Transition Program, is open to all Indigenous students registered for Sask Polytech post-secondary programs starting in the fall term and intake will be continuous throughout the academic year.

August 18-21, 2026

*Monthly lunch and learns will also occur throughout the year.

Time: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Location: In person at main campuses in Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, Regina and Saskatoon. 
Registration: Opens May 29, 2026, and closes August 10, 2026. 

The wîcihitowin Transition Program is designed to help Indigenous students transition to post-secondary and prepare for student life. Students build a firm foundation so that they can achieve their educational and career goals. 

An educational mix of cultural and academic resources, the wîcihitowin Transition Program includes a four-day orientation event and monthly lunch and learns. The four-day orientation runs from August 18-21, 2026. Daily activities include:

  • Cultural programming
  • Personal skill development workshops
  • Information on campus and academic supports
  • Peer group building activities
  • Assistance with funding arrangements

Students who successfully complete the wîcihitowin Transition Program may be eligible for financial incentives.
