Corrine Herman learned about Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s programs during a career fair in La Loche while in high school.
She moved to Saskatoon to pursue her post-secondary education and it took some time to get comfortable.
"One of my challenges was being far from home, away from my friends and family, and adjusting to my new environment," she said. "All the services Sask Polytech provides to students were helpful."
From Indigenous advisors to the Indigenous Students’ Centre to the library, Learning Services and student awards, she was able to receive support throughout her learning journey. Her ultimate goal is to move back home to La Loche to serve her community as a paramedic.
