×Shara Allaly
Hello! I am Shara Allary and I am very honored to join the Sask Polytech community
as an Indigenous community liaison with wĪtōkamāhtōtān Student Success. I was born
in Yorkton and predominantly raised in Regina. I am a Métis Cree woman and am proud
member of Saskatchewan Metis Nation. I have two beautiful children and am excited
to cheer on my son at the 2024 Paris Paralympics, as he will represent Team Canada
and will be competing in wheelchair basketball. After raising my children, I returned
to secondary education. I have been awarded two degrees from the University of Regina
with a focus in film production and a focus in Indigenous studies. I have been passionate
about education since an early age and look forward to extending that passion to the
Sask Polytech student population.
I currently work as a crisis worker and very much enjoy my role as a support worker.
I have been working in this field for over three years and have been humbled to be
able to serve and support our community members. Professionally one of my goals is
to promote and support Indigenous excellence in all aspects of academic and personal
aspirations. As a Métis woman my personal values are to foster platforms and environments
that allow Indigenous people to amplify their voices with the intent of creating safe
spaces that allow people to thrive.
