Located in central Saskatchewan on the South Saskatchewan River, Saskatoon is the largest city in the province with a population of 260,000.
Saskatoon's name is derived from a Cree word for a local indigenous berry. Often Saskatoon is described as the Bridge City, because of the 8 river crossings. It became a city in 1906. The economy of Saskatoon is connected to potash, oil and agriculture.

Pay parking is in effect for staff, students and visitors. Visitors to Saskatchewan Polytechnic are required to register the plate number of their vehicle with the information desk located within the main entrance.
