“The learning process can be difficult but rewarding. It’ll all pay off in the end.”
For Jade Littlechief, education is about more than earning a credential—it’s about becoming the best version of himself and inspiring others to do the same. That drive is what stands out most from his time at Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
Jade first learned about Sask Polytech through his high school guidance counselor. He chose the Resource and Environment Law program with a clear goal: to work as a conservation officer and protect the land he loves.
His journey hasn’t been without challenges. Financial struggles and navigating band funding added stress, but Jade leaned on campus supports like the Indigenous Students’ Centre and counselling services. “The Indigenous strategy team made me feel welcome,” he says. “Visiting with them during my time off was always a highlight.”
As Jade plans for the future, he sees himself serving his community as a conservation officer. His advice to others? “Believe in yourself and don’t be afraid to ask questions. It’s okay not to know the answer.”
