×Reza Gharraei
Dr. Reza has a PhD in mechanical engineering, focusing on energy conversion, from
the University of Tabriz, Iran (2011). He also holds an M.Sc. in mechanical engineering
with a specialization in energy conversion from Amirkabir University of Technology
(2004).
He began his career as a mechanical engineer in 2006 and has since developed expertise
in energy conversion, thermofuids, computational modeling and computer vision. His
research interests include:
- Renewable energy systems
- Improvement of energy systems' performance
- Reduction of water consumption in industrial processes
- Particulate flows
Dr. Reza currently serves as a senior research associate at Digital Integration Centre
of Excellence (DICE) at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. Previously, he was a faculty member
in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Azarbaijan Shahid Madani University,
Iran (2011-2019) and worked as a scientific consultant for Alikan Farayand Co., Iran
(2016-2019).
He has published more than 50 research papers in peer-reviewed journals and conference
proceedings and holds two patents. Dr. Reza has supervised more than 50 graduate and
undergraduate students and was awarded the Outstanding Faculty Member for the 2013-14
academic year at Azarbaijan Shahid Madani University.
In his personal life, he enjoys hiking and classical music.
