Summary of proposals for public release:

In partnership with Solid State AI (SSAI), DICE is developing a sub system for SSAI's artificial intelligence (AI) for manufacturing systems (AIMS) platform. Specifically, the proposed applied research will start developing a system capable of performing data aggregation and migration across multiple corporate databases while maintaining or introducing relationships between the data points. This will allow for SSAI's clients to take more control over their data aggregation strategies and aid in the application of AI and machine learning (ML) algorithms in the AIMS platform to improve and optimize business and manufacturing processes.

McIntosh Sand and Gravel (MSG) is a Saskatoon-based company that performs gravel crushing and processing for industry and municipalities throughout Saskatchewan. MSG's mission is to disrupt the aggregate industry through the application of new technologies that will help decrease costs and streamline processes. DICE will work with MSG to develop a digital method to determine gravel source particulate size. This is traditionally done through a sieve analysis that takes a significant amount of time and cost for each analysis. The application of machine learning and image processing through a low cost, portable system will help to decrease waste, delays in production and reduce analysis costs.
