WIT Workshop:Carpentry/Welding (CEXP-1604)

The Women in Trades Exploratory Workshop is a hands-on, one weekend workshop for women 16+ offering an introduction to a variety of basic carpentry and welding skills. Upon successful completion of the workshop, you are issued a statement of attendance. The workshop provides women with: Non-credit post-secondary training/education and employment potential in trades. A realistic understanding of the physical, emotional, and academic requirements of training/education and employment in trades. Shop sessions include: Carpentry - you will learn how to frame and erect a wall. CSA approved steel toed safety boots are required for this workshop; Welding - you will learn to assemble and tack weld steel, use assorted shaping methods, as well as use cleaning, finishing and cutting tools.
