Therapeutic Recreation & Aging (THRC-289)

You will explore the relationship between leisure and aging and learn how to apply current therapeutic recreation practices (including physical activity and exercise), to support older adults, in a variety of settings. You will examine the myths, realities and considerations relative to aging, including the impact of retirement on older adults. The health care system will be discussed as well as how the delivery of leisure and health services affects older adults.

Prerequisites: HUMD 188, THRC 183, THRC 184, THRC 190
