Insertion & Carving of Amalgam (DENT-1600)

Through self-study, class discussions, preclinical laboratories, preclinical assignments on a dentoform mannequin, and clinical requirements on dental office patients, you will learn to place amalgam restorations in a variety of tooth preparations. You will develop a basic understanding of the safety of dental amalgam, the dental amalgam controversy, relevant dental anatomy, the establishment of a healthy occlusion, and the materials used in amalgam restorations.
