Indigenous Cultural Awareness (CLTR-1603)

Enhance your knowledge of Indigenous culture and challenges facing Indigenous people through this highly interactive experience. This workshop includes a prayer and smudging ceremony (optional for allergies/sensitivities to smoke), teepee raising and the KAIROS blanket exercise, activities which focus on learning more about the history and meaning of these activities to Indigenous people. Upon enrollment you will also receive access to optional online content which includes an introduction to Indigenous cultural groups within Saskatchewan, a primer on the colonization of Indigenous people by the Canadian state and discuss current issues and possible solutions.
