Health Record Documentation (NURS-1685)

Accurate, timely, and relevant documentation of health care provided to clients is necessary to ensure consistency of care within the multidisciplinary team. Health documents provide a legal representation of the assessments, actions, and related results when caring for a client. In this course you will study the purpose, standards and methods of documentation as a means of communication of the care you have provided to your clients. You will learn how documentation demonstrates a commitment to providing safe, effective, ethical care and accountability for professional practice. You will learn the Canadian standards of documentation, types of nursing reports, and discuss methods of recording data. Prerequisite: LPN/RN (You will be required to provide your license number at the time of registration.)
