Foot Care Nursing (NURS-1700)

This course focuses on the importance of foot health as a component of holistic client wellbeing. You will build on basic nursing skills to further develop your competency in assisting clients to caring for their feet and enhance their quality of life. You will gain a deeper understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the foot, practice assessment of the high risk foot, identify common nail and skin pathologies, and work with common instruments used in foot care procedures. You will consider ways in which you can be a leader in your workplace to implement evidenced based foot care practices. A mandatory 3-day clinical will be scheduled for you with an external agency at an additional cost to you. Prerequisite: RN/LPN
