This course will provide a review of the area of kidney disease and enhance your knowledge regarding resources and care of the client with kidney disease, both acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease. You will focus on care and management of the client with chronic kidney disease. You will study principles of nursing practice as they apply to renal replacement therapy and vascular access. Pharmacology, lab values, and lifestyle management related to chronic kidney disease will be discussed with a focus on prevention, treatment, and care. This course will include an overview of the differences in roles between Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs).
