This program is offered through the Building the Future: Opportunities for Early Childhood Educators program. It is open to Canadian citizens and Permanent Residents.
What is Jump Start?
It helps people who already have ECE Level 1 certification but do not meet the requirements for ECE Level 2. The Jump Start program is offered in the evenings over Zoom only. There is no on-campus delivery.
This program offers help with two different areas:
- English language skills
- High school classes (Grade 12 English/English A30)
The Jump Start program will also prepare you for the high school (grade 12) equivalency, the Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC). After finishing Jump Start, you may meet some or all of the requirements to apply for the Early Childhood Education diploma (Level 2 or Level 3). If you do meet the requirements, you can apply for the Fall 2026 program.
Who can take Jump Start?
To get into the Jump Start program, you must:
- Have an ECE Level 1 certificate,
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident,
- Currently work at a regulated Saskatchewan-based child care centre, and
- Have reliable access to a computer (desktop or laptop) with good Internet access.
