Non-verbal Cues and Disrespectful Behaviour
From the previous video scenarios you should have picked up on non-verbal cues showing when a person was offended. Here are more non-verbal cues that a person may be offended:
- Crossing the arms
- Fidgeting
- Losing eye contact
- Leaning back or creating physical distance
- Becoming quiet
- Changing the subject
- Interrupting
- Rolling the eyes
- Clenching the fists
- Sighing
- Walking away
Disrespectful behaviour may include:
- Looking through someone as if they are invisible
- Ignoring
- Mimicking an accent
- Back stabbing
- Excluding others from events or conversations
- Self-absorbed behaviours
- Having a condescending attitude
- Gossiping
- Lying face to face
- Mocking
- Being rude
- Sticking out tongue
- Challenging - "Make me do this."
