Sustainability elements are part of procurement and purchasing considerations.  Suppliers are encouraged to highlight sustainability elements in responses to quotations and sealed bids even if these elements are not specifically requested.

Sustainability and financial benefits are delivered through procedures that maximize the opportunity for reuse of items and minimize the amount of material that enters the waste stream. Sask Polytech applies the 5 R’s (refuse, reduce, reuse, repurpose, and then recycle) to disposal.

Surplus materials are equipment, furniture and supplies no longer required. Surplus and obsolete material are the property of Sask Polytech and shall be disposed of in a manner that is environmentally sustainable.  These items are disposed of through a process administered by the Shipping/Receiving department in conjunction with the Sask Polytech policies and procedures.
