Indigenous Student Support for Business and Entrepreneurship and Hospitality, Tourism and Applied Aesthetics Programs

Indigenous student advisors (ISAs) support Indigenous students throughout their student life cycle at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. Our ISA works alongside students in School of Business and Entrepreneurship and the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Applied Aesthetics to reduce barriers, support academic success and strengthen confidence from admission through graduation and beyond.

How an Indigenous student advisor can support you

  • Academic and program support: Assistance with program exploration, applications, registration and goal setting.
  • Learning and technology support: Connections to tutoring, study skills, writing and exam preparation, technology support, accessibility services, peer networks and other learning resources.
  • Financial and personal support: Guidance on band sponsorship, funding, scholarships and bursaries, connections to counselling and wellness services and connections to on-campus Elders, traditional events, smudging and other cultural supports.
  • Career and future readiness: Connections to internships, work placements and employment opportunities, along with interview preparation, professional skills development, entrepreneurship and planning toward academic and professional goals.
