Convocation 2020

Congratulations

Class of 2020

Convocation is a time to celebrate students and recognize their hard work and achievements. Although Saskatchewan Polytechnic ceremonies have been postponed and we are unable to gather in person at this time, we still want graduates to have a memorable celebration.

Saskatchewan Polytechnic grad recognition week begins June 15. It is not intended to replace Convocation but is a chance for graduates to be celebrated and recognized for their achievements.

We invite friends, families and our Saskatchewan Polytechnic community to join us in honoring the efforts and achievements of our Class of 2020.

Convocation Messages

Today is a day worth celebrating.  You have completed your coursework, exams and other requirements in order to graduate, and today you join a group of thousands of Saskatchewan Polytechnic graduates who are making a difference in every sector of our economy across Saskatchewan and beyond.

You have great reason to be proud.  Our emphasis on practical learning, coupled with our expertise in applied research and strong business and industry partnerships, have given you valuable skills to make meaningful contributions throughout your careers.

Student success is at the core of our mission.  Our Faculty, Staff and I are so proud of you and your accomplishments, and have appreciated the opportunity to serve as an important partner in your success.  I encourage you to maintain your connections with us, including your faculty, friends and our Alumni Office, and I invite you to register as an alumnus.

Again, my sincere congratulations.

Dr. Larry S. Rosia President and CEO

Congratulations on reaching this important milestone in your life. The hours of hard work, late nights of studying, and the patience and perseverance you invested to make this day possible are a testament to your drive and commitment for excellence. I hope today’s achievement always reminds you that you can succeed whenever you set your mind to a goal.

The skills and experience gained during your time at Saskatchewan Polytechnic will serve you well far into the future. Employers value a polytechnic education because the hands-on nature of our programs equip you with the skills to approach challenges with a critical eye and a solutions-focused mindset.

While this part of your education journey may be complete, it is my hope that as a proud graduate you continue to have strong ties with Saskatchewan Polytechnic for many years to come.

I commend you for your achievement.

Dr. Has Malik Provost and Vice-President, Academic

On behalf of the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Board of Directors, congratulations on your important achievement.

Student success is at the core of Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s mission.  While your formal coursework may be over, learning is a lifelong journey.  In the words of author L. Frank Baum, “No thief, however skillful, can rob one of knowledge, and that is why knowledge is the best and safest treasure to acquire.”

My Board colleagues and I hope that your relationship with our institution continues for years to come as you go on to begin long and successful careers.  We will look forward to welcoming you again —as students, alumni, instructors, employers, mentors, parents, supporters and friends.

Again, my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on this important day.  We are proud that you have reached this important milestone.

Mitchell J. Holash Chair, Saskatchewan Polytechnic Board of Directors

Congratulations on your convocation and welcome to our alumni community. We’re proud of you. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
