Course options

Advanced manufacturing

Designed for those with advanced manufacturing experience (e.g., assembly operators, technicians and technologists) to help you move into more specialized IIoT roles. Get practical experience with IIoT tools such as sensor networks and data collection to improve industrial processes and grow your career.

Dates:
  • Fall 2025
Length:
  • 12 weeks, part-time studies (approximately 70 hours plus assignments)
Format:
  • Virtual and synchronous (attend class online at a specific time)
  • Three hours per week, plus assignments
Admission requirements:
  • At least three years of work or volunteer experience in advanced manufacturing.
  • Proficient in English. 
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Proficient in using computers and basic software applications.
Technical requirements:
  • Computer with reliable Internet, webcam and microphone.
Cost:
  • $200 plus tax.

Designed for mid-career manufacturing professionals (e.g., millwrights, machinists, virtual designers and data analysts) to give you the technical and data-driven skills to grow your career in the manufacturing industry.

You will focus on integrating digital tools into traditional manufacturing processes, growing skills in 2D and 3D design, computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) and data analysis for advanced manufacturing.

Dates:
  • Fall 2025
Length:
  • 16 weeks part-time studies (approximately 112 hours plus assignments)
Format:
  • Online asynchronous (Complete at your own pace within deadlines set by your instructor).
  • Lessons (approximately three hours per week) plus assignments (approximately two hours per week).
Admission requirements:
  • At least three years of work or volunteer experience in manufacturing.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.
Considered as an asset:
  • Proficient in using computers and basic software applications.
  • Familiarity with basic manufacturing concepts and terminology.
  • Basic familiarity with blueprints, technical drawings and how to use precision measurement tools.
  • Awareness of technological tools and software relevant to industrial design (e.g., CAD/CAM).

Agricultural technology

Designed for those with experience, from new employees to those with experience in farming, this course is for people who are interested in greenhouse operations, sustainable food systems and community-driven agriculture. It’s also suitable for managers overseeing growers and making business decisions.

Dates:
  • Fall 2025
Length:
  • Seven weeks part-time studies (approximately 60 hours plus assignments)
Format:
  • Module 1:
    • Virtual asynchronous (attend class online at a specific time) 
    • Three hours per week plus assignments. 
  • Module 2:
    • In-person at a greenhouse in the community.
  • Module 3:
    • Virtual asynchronous (attend class online at a specific time) 
    • Three hours per week plus assignments.
Admission requirements:
  • Completion of Grade 10.
  • At least three years of work or volunteer experience in any sector.
  • Physically able to stand for at least three hours and lift up to 15 kg.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.
Technical requirements: 
  • Computer with reliable Internet, webcam and microphone.
