Project description
The project was designed to develop sustainable models in India for effective interaction and linkage between technical institutions and to promote private sector participation in human resource development issues, focusing on technical education as an entry point.
Goal
To enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the technical education system (20 polytechnics and engineering colleges) in the four states in the Western Region of India.

Results
The project enhanced the efficiency and effectiveness of the technical education system in 20 polytechnics and engineering colleges in the four states in the western region of India. The project :
- Developed sustainable models in India for effective interaction and linkage between technical institutions and industry.
- Ensured sustainability and promoted replication of the project initiatives; and
- Promoted private sector participation in human resource development issues, focusing on technical education as an entry point.
