Convocation is best celebrated with family members and friends.
Your family member or friend may need to apply for a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) or apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) in order to come to Canada temporarily to visit you. For more information on this, please visit the Immigration, Citizenship and Refugees Canada (IRCC) website to find out if they need a visa.
To support their application, it may be necessary to receive an invitation letter from the graduating student. Sask Polytech does not generate those letters. The student in Canada is responsible to prove they have the means and reason for a family member to join them them while they study. Please visit the IRCC website for information pertaining to writing an invitation letter.
IRCC does not require invitation letters directly from the institution. However, the graduating student may provide proof of status in Canada and details of ceremony:
- Copy of study permit
- Letter of acceptance and enrolment verification

For those who are not able to travel, we will live stream your convocation at saskpolytech.ca/convocation.
