Saskatchewan Polytechnic's Leslie and Irene Dubé School of Nursing is partnering with Hong Kong's HKMU LiPACE to offer a virtual interactive student exchange. 

Saskatchewan Polytechnic educated nurses are known for their high standards of practice, ethical behaviour, acceptance of diversity and compassion. After all, they’ve been trained by the best. Saskatchewan Polytechnic is a respected provider of nursing education in Canada. Our Leslie and Irene Dubé School of Nursing offers innovative online programs. Each is designed with input from the health care profession, our education is up-to-date and matches opportunities in the field.

Participants will receive a certificate of recognition upon completion.

Overview

The virtual exchange program provides knowledge and understanding about the nursing profession in Canada. You will:

  • Learn about the Canadian healthcare system and the roles that the nursing profession plays. 
  • Be introduced to terminology used in Canada.   
  • Study the Canadian Nurses Code of Ethics, the regulatory structure for nursing, and steps to becoming a registered nurse in Canada.   
  • Explore the principles of patient and family-centered care and patient safety. 
  • Be introduced to nursing specialties while exploring the many settings of care.
  • Explore the currently expanding areas of practice including care of the elderly, mental health, and primary health care.
  • Have the opportunity to engage with nursing professionals in the field who will discuss their challenges and the rewarding aspects of their practice. 

Interaction with Canadian nursing professionals   

The program will bring together an intraprofessional group of nurses from Saskatchewan to present and exchange ideas relating to the nursing profession in Canada. Students will have an opportunity to ask questions, network and exchange ideas with each of the nursing professionals. Nursing professionals will include clinical nurses from various areas of practice.
