From the trunk of a car to centre stage

How Cody Demerais turned passion into purpose fueling a movement of empowerment – one hoodie, one story, one stage at a time

From his time in the Industrial Mechanics program at Saskatchewan Polytechnic, to speaking on stages across the province, Cody Demerais’ story has always been rooted in connection. Whether it’s the message stitched into his clothing or the stories he shares during his speaking engagements, Cody is creating space for others to feel seen, inspired and empowered to chase their own version of success.

Cody's journey didn’t start in a boardroom or a design studio—it began in the trunk of his car. “Eight years ago, I was literally selling shirts from the trunk,” he said. Launching a clothing brand had been a longtime dream. It started as a grassroots hustle and evolved into a growing brand with retail partnerships across Saskatchewan. That hustle eventually led to a full-fledged speaking career, with Cody now sometimes delivering up to seven engagements a week.

His inspiration for launching a clothing line came from conversations with people who believed they had reached the ceiling of their potential. “It bothered me when people said they didn’t have a future beyond where they were,” Cody explains. “I wanted to create something that reminded people to keep pushing—to unlock more of themselves.”

That “something” became a lifestyle brand focused on personal growth, empowerment, and the limitless nature of human potential. And fittingly, Cody named his company after the very mindset that drove him forward: Limitless.

Speaking from the heart

Cody’s speaking career gained traction after years of using his voice to advocate for mental health, addiction and a life-altering car crash that reshaped his outlook. “I took the most painful moments of my life and turned them into a purpose,” he said.

He even provided this hard-learned knowledge to Sask Polytech students and staff when he spoke at Sask Polytech’s annual KNOW Conference in November 2024.

These talks are deeply personal, filled with vulnerability and raw truth—something audiences resonate with. “Whether it’s a room of fifty or five hundred, if I can make even one meaningful connection, that’s everything,” he adds.

And that connection extends beyond the stage. His clothing line and his self-published books, all born out of the same drive to inspire, give audiences a way to stay connected to his message long after the lights go down.

Wearing many hats—and hoodies

When he's not speaking, Cody’s making hoodies on his embroidery machine or checking inventory with partner retailers—which includes Sask Polytech Campus Store offering his hoodies and book on-campus and online. “I don’t like to sit still,” he laughs. “Every day is a mix—emails, school partnerships and hoodie runs. I even have plans to build a garage studio at home to streamline it all.”

His brand is evolving, too. With a shift toward made-to-order embroidered gear, Cody is moving away from large inventory and leaning into personalized, sustainable and efficient production. “It allows more creativity and flexibility,” he said. “I can produce something the moment inspiration strikes.”

Writing his first book, Take Your Life Back: How Showing Your Heart and Wearing Your Message Can Change Lives, was as much a personal journey as it was a professional milestone. Cody was committed to telling his story—not for profit, but for purpose. “I wasn’t thinking about sales,” he said. “I was thinking about the people who’d never get to hear me speak in person. I wanted the book to reach them.”

He also recently released his second book, Raise Your Vibrations A Guide to Living with Higher Energy, Purpose and Positivity, that aims to continue the messaging of his first book.

Limitless living

Cody’s work isn’t just a career—it’s a calling. His approach to life is simple but powerful: take risks, stay intentional and keep pushing your own limits. Whether he’s mentoring youth, designing a new hoodie or dreaming up his next seminar, Cody’s mission remains the same: “Once you believe you have the ability and capacity to do great things, that’s when life becomes truly Limitless.”

Cody recently shared more about his journey at a book signing and author talk hosted by the Sask Polytech Library and Campus Store on Prince Albert campus. With future plans that include hosting entrepreneurship seminars, expanding the Limitless brand, and possibly even launching a podcast, Cody is far from done. If anything, he’s just getting started.
