Take Our Kids to Work Day
Wednesday, November 1, 2017
This is a day for grade 9 students to experience the challenges, rewards and future of the working world, and to gain a better understanding of what it means to go to work. It may also assist students in making course selections for their grades 10-12 school years.
“The Take Our Kids to Work program illustrates the importance of education, skills development and training while giving students the opportunity to experience the world of work and the variety of career opportunities that await them.
The Take Our Kids to Work program enables the entire community – parents, teachers and workplaces – to play an important role in the career development of young Canadians.”
As an educational institution, we have the resources to help children in Moose Jaw, Prince Albert and Saskatoon whose parents do not work at the present time or work in settings unsuitable for this activity. We can assist in making this day a valuable experience by showing the importance of skills, training and educational requirements needed to succeed at work. Contact email@example.com for more information.
Sask Polytech employees in Moose Jaw, Prince Albert and Saskatoon are encouraged to bring their grade 9 child to their workplace to experience their work environment at Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
Saskatchewan Polytechnic in Saskatoon and the Saskatoon Health Region (SHR) are partnering to provide grade 9 children who are interested in a health field related career. This event is open only to SHR and Sask Polytech employees. The maximum number of participants per session is 30. Student registration will be handled by the SHR, if you have a son or daughter in grade 9 who would like to register, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and she will forward registration details.
