Essential resources

Participating in a mentoring relationship can be a great way for you to gain new skills, advance your career or enrich your personal life.

The following resources are designed to help you gain a broader understanding of how mentoring works and why a mentoring relationship may be a useful tool to help you or members of your staff grow professionally.

Mastering Mentorship E-learning Blackboard course

The Mastering Mentorship E-learning Blackboard course provides mentors and mentees in formal or informal relationships with the resources they need to maximize their relationship.

Course material is divided into five learning outcomes:

  • Describe mentorship
  • Identify formal mentorship roles
  • Using mentoring foundations, resources and theory
  • Implement mentoring strategies
  • Describe mentorship culture

The interactive course takes about 10 hours to complete. Individuals will receive a certificate of recognition upon completing the course.

Participants in the formal mentorship program in the Sask Polytech Nursing and Science and Health divisions are automatically added to the course. Informal mentorship pairs from these divisions, or non-members who want to view the course, can request access to the course by e-mailing: mentorship.nursing@saskpolytech.ca
