For Jolene, attending Sask Polytech isn't just about the classes and homework.

"I have made lifelong friends," says Jolene. "Going to Sask Polytech has opened me up to multicultural experiences I may not have gotten otherwise."

When it comes to the schoolwork, the First Nations student says her friends, instructors and the services offered through the Aboriginal Student Achievement Plan, including some scholarships, have helped her find her way through some difficult challenges.

"The Aboriginal Student Achievement Plan helps me with everything and the counsellors are supportive and helpful. They have helped me find information and the scholarships have helped me to remain in school and lessen the stress," she says.

Jolene says the key to success is to not give up at following your dreams.

"Keep going forward and stop self-doubting," says Jolene. "Believe in yourself, don't ever give up."
