Ceremony details

Graduate info

Before the ceremony

1. Graduates need to arrive at Hildebrand Chapel by 12:45 p.m. 

  • Late arrivals are not guaranteed participation in the ceremony.

2. Collect your gown and v-stole and assemble with your program.

  • If you didn't register, go to the unregistered student information table. There are a limited number of extra gowns and v-stoles ordered, which are provided on a first come, first served basis.

3. Line up with your program by 1 p.m.

After the ceremony

1. Return your gown and v-stole immediately to the tables where you received them.

  • If you don't return your gown or v-stole, a hold will be placed on your student account. You will not receive your degree/diploma/certificate until it is returned or the cost is reimbursed. 

2. Attend the convocation tea in the lobby with your guests. 

3. Purchase photos, flowers, frames and other merchandise.

4. Take photos at the paparazzi wall or Star Blanket. Don't forget to tag your photos with #SaskPolytech2019.

  • If you didn't register, go to the unregistered student information table. There are a limited number of extra gowns and v-stoles ordered, which are provided on a first come, first served basis.

3. Line up with your program by:

  • 9 a.m. for the morning ceremony
  • 1 p.m for the afternoon ceremony

After the ceremony

1. Return your gown and v-stole immediately to the tables where you received them.

 Register for convocation

  1. Check your @saskpolytech.ca email address for your invitation. Invitations are sent five to six weeks before convocation.

  2. If you want to attend, register online.

Gowns and attire

  • As a graduate, you are required to wear a black gown and school v-stole for the ceremony. Gowns and v-stoles are ordered free of charge when you register. 
  • Wear comfortable shoes and semi-formal attire under your gown.
  • Purses, bags, hats and cell phones are not allowed on stage. Leave these items with your family and friends. Sask Polytech event staff cannot store your items.

Photography

Lifetouch Photography will take a photo of each graduate crossing the stage. Find the Lifetouch Photography table after the ceremony to buy your photo.

Flowers 

Two ways to buy flowers:

  • pre-order online
  • on-site before and after the ceremony

Graduate photographs 

  • Lifetouch Photography will take a photo of each graduate crossing the stage. 
  • Find the Lifetouch Photography table after the ceremony to buy your photo.

Frames

Two ways to buy your parchment and photo frames:

  • pre-order online
  • on-site following the ceremony 

Sask Polytech merchandise

  • Buy your Sask Polytech merchandise on-site before and after the ceremony.

Degrees, diplomas and certificates

Degrees, diplomas and certificates are not handed out during the ceremony. Enrolment Services mails your parchment to you at a later date. Ensure your mailing address is up-to-date.
