The Western Canadian Nuclear Training Centre, first announced and opened in 2025, delivers nuclear-specific training and fosters strategic partnerships to support workforce development for small modular reactors (SMRs) and other nuclear technologies. Home to the world’s richest uranium deposits, Saskatchewan is poised to play a central role in Canada’s nuclear future.
With one-third of the national nuclear workforce nearing retirement, the need for skilled workers is critical. Sask Polytech's nuclear skills training courses are supported by partnerships with some of the sector's most respected organizations, including:
