This online Cook Upgrader program is designed to prepare individuals to challenge the Cook Interprovincial Journeyperson examination. This is an intensive study course consisting of 30 online lessons. Each online lesson includes a video which reflects the important aspects of that particular subject and also has an online quiz to test you on how well you have understood that particular lesson. The lessons are released two per week and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All participants have the opportunity to chat with the Chef Instructor one afternoon per week to clarify any issues which may arise, or contact that instructor anytime via email. At the end of the course, the students will write a comprehensive examination to assess their progress with the subject matter. Each participant is required to obtain a current edition of the text book, Professional Cooking by Wayne Gisslen. Note: Learners who intend on challenging the Interprovincial Journeyperson examination must contact the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission prior to taking this course to ensure their eligibility.
