March 1, 2022 – For the sixth consecutive year, Saskatchewan Polytechnic has been recognized as a Top Employer in Saskatchewan.

Saskatchewan's Top Employers is an annual competition organized by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers. This special designation recognizes the Saskatchewan employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work.

“Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s mission is to inspire success in every learning journey. Our employees are crucial to this success,” says Dr. Larry Rosia, Sask Polytech president and CEO. “Being selected as a Top Employer is a great honour and reflects the excellent work that goes into making Sask Polytech such a great place to work. The credit for this award goes to our faculty and staff. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to our students and stakeholders.”

Employers are evaluated by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers using the same eight criteria as the national competition: physical workplace; work atmosphere & social; health, financial & family benefits; vacation & time off; employee communications; performance management; training & skills development and community involvement. Employers are compared to other organizations in their field to determine which offer the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.

One of the reasons Sask Polytech was chosen as a top employer was for the supports offered to employees throughout the various stages of life, from maternity and parental leave top-up payments, to flexible work options to help balance personal and family commitments, to phased-in work options for those in the later stages of their career. Sask Polytech also recognizes employees who go the extra mile to ensure that our institution, partners and learners succeed. Faculty awards are celebrated annually in the spring during convocation and in the fall during retirement and long service employee awards events.

Private and public sector employers with a head office or principal place of business located in Saskatchewan may apply to the competition.
