Saskatchewan Polytechnic virtual convocation celebrates graduates across the province

Faculty and staff, family and friends celebrate the perseverance, dedication and accomplishments of Saskatchewan Polytechnic students from the classes of 2020 and 2021

June 21, 2021 – Saskatchewan Polytechnic is proud to celebrate the accomplishments of more than 8,000 students from the graduating classes of 2020 and 2021. During the week of June 22, videos of 16 virtual convocation ceremonies will be posted on the Sask Polytech convocation webpage.

Virtual ceremonies have allowed program graduates from each of the four campus cities—Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, Regina and Saskatoon—to be celebrated together. The virtual format also provides the opportunity for friends and family from around the world to join in the celebration.

“During a year filled with increased challenges and change due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our students have proven to be adaptable and strong,” says Dr. Larry Rosia, president and CEO. “They have persevered, overcoming obstacles and challenges as they endeavoured to reach their goals. Our faculty, staff, and I are so proud of their accomplishments. These qualities will serve them well throughout the rest of their lives.”

The ceremonies will highlight both student and faculty achievements. Students are being honoured with Governor General’s Academic Medals, Innovation Awards and Outstanding Citizenship Awards. Faculty awards include the Applied Research Award for Excellence and Award for Excellence in Teaching. Visit the Awards page for full details of the more than 40 awards being bestowed.

Convocation ceremonies run from June 22 to 25. Visit www.saskpolytech.ca/convocation for full details.
