New January 2021 start date
December 8, 2020 - In September, Saskatchewan Polytechnic announced, along with the the University of Regina and the University of Saskatchewan, that we will continue to provide programs via a two-pronged approach to education delivery for the winter term. For continued campus safety, our students and employees will continue to work and learn from home for the winter academic term that will begin in January, 2021.
The 2021 winter term will officially start on Monday, January 11 for most programs. This will give students extra time to recharge over the holiday break and faculty time to prepare for the upcoming term. In some cases, programs will start on Monday January 4. This will allow apprenticeship training, work placements and preparatory courses for Spring Term to be completed as scheduled.
Please visit the Sask Polytech program status page to see if your program starts on January 4 or January 11. Please note your program start date may have changed from the date you received on your enrolment letter. The last day of classes and exams can be April 30, 2021.
Sask Polytech campuses remain closed to the general public. COVID-19 protocols remain in place including:
- Completing the daily health checklist.
- Only using the assigned entrance/exit and break room.
- Wearing a mask at all times.
- Masks with exhalation valves are not accepted for use on campus as they are not recommended by the Government of Canada. This type of mask does not limit the spread of the virus.
- If breaks are taken outside with mask removed – six feet physical distancing must be maintained at all times.
Most Sask Polytech programs will have a mid-semester break February 16-19, 2021. The last possible day of classes and exams is April 30, 2021, although some programs may finish earlier. If you have questions about how the delayed start to the 2021 winter term impacts your program, please contact your program head or instructor. If you have questions about registration, withdrawal, or tuition payment deadlines, contact Enrolment Services.
Our Sask Polytech community will continue to work together and support one another as we navigate the uncertainties ahead.
Personal counselling services are available to all students. We provide confidential and private counselling sessions over phone or zoom, depending on your preference. Should you want to book an appointment with one of our counsellors, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. If this is a crisis or an urgent matter, please call 911 or Mobile Crisis.
Students can also drop into Sask Polytech Zoom Rooms here during the following hours of operation and our friendly employees will be happy to answer your questions or direct you to the appropriate department for assistance.
