Saskatchewan Polytechnic awarded top employer in the province distinction

This is the second consecutive year Saskatchewan Polytechnic has been recognized by Mediacorp Canada

January 24, 2018 – Saskatchewan Polytechnic is becoming a first choice polytechnic for students, but it’s already a great place to work. Today Mediacorp Canada named Saskatchewan Polytechnic a top employer in Saskatchewan.

“Being recognized as a top employer is a great honour and we couldn’t have achieved this accomplishment without the dedication and commitment of our faculty and staff,” says Dr. Larry Rosia, CEO and president at Sask Polytech. “We are proud of the work we’ve done together to receive this recognition, and are proud too of the positive impact it signifies for our students and their success.”

The Top Employer designation from Mediacorp Canada recognizes Saskatchewan employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work. Employers are compared to other organizations in their field to determine which offer the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.

“We know that when our faculty and staff are engaged in their work, our students have a greater chance to be more successful,” says Terence Carswell, associate vice-president, Human Resources. “We continue to seek input from our colleagues throughout the institution to ensure we are providing the work environment that people need and want.”

The editors at Canada’s Top 100 employers use a number of criteria to make their selections. Criteria include: physical workspace; work atmosphere and social; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communication and more.
