Presented by Graham Group, Sask Polytech’s Business and Industry Dinner provides networking opportunities and raises funds for student awards
November 21, 2018 – Saskatchewan Polytechnic Business and Industry Dinners presented by Graham Group provide a valuable applied learning opportunity for students to build networks for their future careers. Employers in attendance are provided the opportunity to meet with potential future hires. This year’s keynote speaker is Sask Polytech Marketing diploma program alumnus Andrew Hiltz.
Hiltz is a content creator for Tourism Saskatchewan. Saskatchewan adventures lead to new career dreams for Hiltz after a year as the 2017 Saskatchewanderer. The Saskatchewanderer is an ambassador, touring around the province to promote Saskatchewan to the world through videos, photos, and stories posted to a blog and on social media.
Proceeds from the Business and Industry Dinners help fund Sask Polytech’s student awards program and provide more students with access to financial assistance. To date, the value of scholarships and bursaries supported by the event and given to students totals more than $2 million. Over 1,000 business and industry professionals, alumni, faculty and students are expected to attend the 2018 provincial dinner series.
In addition to networking opportunities, attendees will get to hear about some of Sask Polytech’s recent accomplishments. Thanks for our focus on applied research over the past few years, Sask Polytech ranks No. 6 on the 2018 list of Canada’s Top 50 Research Colleges in terms of research income growth.
“Our Business and Industry Dinners are a highlight of my annual calendar and an excellent reminder of how fortunate Saskatchewan Polytechnic is to have such strong partnerships in business and industry,” says Dr. Larry Rosia, president and CEO, Saskatchewan Polytechnic. “These dinners are a great opportunity for our students to network directly with industry leaders, business partners and successful alumni and for business and industry leaders to find first-class future employees!”
