More than 40 events to take place at Sask Polytech campuses between March 21 and 24
Saskatchewan Polytechnic prides itself as a diverse institution that welcomes people
from all over the world to study, grow their skills and find success as they work
towards their educational and career goals. March 21-24 will see each campus city
host a number of events that honour and celebrate our diversity during the second
annual Intercultural Week.
“I firmly believe that cultural diversity is one of our institution’s greatest strengths. We are fortunate to be able to learn from and work alongside faculty, staff and students from around the world,” says Dr. Larry Rosia, president and CEO. “I encourage everyone to participate in the events taking place at their home campus and take the opportunity to learn something new about the richness of cultural contributions to our communities.”
With more than 40 events scheduled to take place throughout the week, participants will be given the opportunity to learn about different cultures. Events include keynote talks, film festivals, dances, and more.
“Intercultural week is designed to foster inclusion and enhance the intercultural awareness of students, staff and faculty,” says Tobi Strohan, associate vice-president of Student Services. “We want this week of celebration to help facilitate the transfer of knowledge and experiences among the diverse people who come to Sask Polytech to study and to work.”
In 2016-2017 Sask Polytech welcomed more than 500 international students and almost 3,000 Indigenous students to our campuses. All together, these students help to create an enriched learning and work environment for everyone at the institution.
