COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements

The health and safety of students and employees is a top priority and guides Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s decision-making on COVID-19 protocols.

Sask Polytech is a strong advocate that vaccination against COVID-19 is the single most effective public health measure to reduce the spread and harms of COVID-19. Sask Polytech students are required to have received two doses of a Health Canada approved vaccination against COVID-19.

Effective January 3, 2022, rapid testing instead of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will no longer be an option for Sask Polytech students and employees unless there is an approved accommodation due to a Saskatchewan Human Rights Code, 2018, protected characteristic.

Students and employees must complete the vaccination verification form accessed under Important Alerts on mySaskPolytech.ca.

Employees and students on campus for any reason are required to submit proof of their vaccination status by January 3, 2022. A QR Code issued by the Government of Saskatchewan is the preferred method of proof. It must be uploaded through the Vaccination Verification form located under Important Alerts on mySaskPolytech.ca.

Those who do not have access to a QR Code may submit an image or PDF of another acceptable form of proof. This includes the wallet card received at the time of vaccination, out-of-province documentation of vaccination from your home province’s electronic health records system or the international documentation of vaccination provided upon entry into Canada.

Sask Polytech will continue to accommodate individuals who are unable to be vaccinated due to a Saskatchewan Human Rights Code, 2018, protected characteristic. For either a medical or religious exemption, contact Student Services which will provide the required documentation to be completed by the appropriate agency. In the case of a medical exemption, documentation must be provided by a licensed physician and will confirm the individual’s medical circumstance meets the defined exemption criteria. For a religious accommodation, the documentation must be filled out by the individual’s religious leader and provide evidence to support an accommodation for religious purposes.

Effective January 3, 2022, Saskatchewan Polytechnic requires students to be fully vaccinated in order to participate in on-campus learning or to visit a Sask Polytech facility for any reason.

This requirement includes students in credit and non-credit courses and programs, training courses and programs, apprenticeship programs, etc. where some or all of the learning requires students to access Sask Polytech campuses to participate in lectures, labs, dental clinic, simulation centres, etc.

Students who are studying entirely online and whose training does not require access to a Sask Polytech campus or facility for any reason are exempt from the Sask Polytech vaccination requirement.
