Dentists, dental therapists, denturists, dental assistants, dental hygienists, nurses and more than 80 Saskatchewan Polytechnic students, faculty and staff volunteers, come together to provide easy access to quality health care.
This event is by invitation only. Participants must attend a pre-assessment appointment so we can determine what care is required. The number of people we see each year is dependent on our dental professional volunteers, time and amount of supplies. We thank all of our volunteers and sponsors for their continued support.
Health and Wellness Day (formally Dental Day) was created in 2012 as a response to the barriers many people face within our community in accessing oral care. The name was changed this year as we have taken an interprofessional approach to address a holistic health and wellness approach. We recognize that there are many people who need help and we try to target those with the greatest need by partnering with the Ukrainian Canadian Congress of Saskatchewan, LINC program and the Regina Open Door Society.

"We volunteered to be a part of the Health & Wellness Day Committee because we all share a passion for oral health, as well as helping people achieve overall health and well-being. Also, we believe it is important to promote interprofessional relationships, and this event allows dental professionals, registered nurses, and many other knowledgeable volunteers to collaborate and deliver optimal care and an impactful experience. This is an important day which gives many people in our community the chance to receive care they may not be able to access regularly, and we are grateful to have a chance to be a part of it!"

Sask Polytech gratefully acknowledges the financial support from our gold and silver sponsors. The funds received from these companies help cover the costs of the supplies used to deliver care and subsidizes further treatment that may be required.
