
An important career milestone is achieved for 1,800 Regina students
June 11, 2024 – Today Saskatchewan Polytechnic celebrates the achievements of its graduates and recognizes outstanding award recipients at the Regina campus convocation ceremonies. More than 1,800 students were invited to attend, marking the next steps of their professional journey. Sask Polytech graduates are well-equipped to make a significant impact in their respective fields. One out of every 19 jobs in Saskatchewan are supported by the activities of Sask Polytech, its students and alumni.

Destiny Cyr is the recipient of the Governor General’s Academic Bronze Medal for the highest average in the Regina campus Adult 12 program.
Olesia Panas, a graduate of the Interactive Design and Technology program, is the recipient of the Governor General’s Academic Collegiate Bronze Medal for the highest average for a diploma at the Regina campus.
Arlynn Weich, a graduate of the Bachelor of Applied Managment Degree, is the recipient of the Governor General’s Academic Silver Undergraduate Medal for the highest average at the undergraduate level.
Gabriela Pozner, a graduate of the Hotel and Restaurant Management program, received the Outstanding Citizenship award. Pozner was the Regina campus vice president for the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Students Association (SPSA) and focused on providing students with a platform to voice concerns and advocating on behalf of students to Sask Polytech’s board of directors and the Ministry of Advanced Education. She was also involved with the Federal Student Advocacy Alliance (FSAA), lobbying for post-secondary student concerns at the federal level.
Cody Peterson, a Graphic Communications instructor at Regina campus was honoured for his commitment to teaching with the Faculty Award for Excellence: Teaching. Peterson is recognized for his outstanding contributions in instruction, assessment and curriculum development. Serving as the WorldSkills Graphic Design Technology Expert since 2019, Peterson has played a pivotal role in evaluating graphic design work at the provincial, national and world levels. This role enables him to bring a global perspective to the Sask Polytech Graphic Communications program.
Sask Polytech awarded an honorary degree in Applied Studies to Jason Dittmann, president and owner of MicroAge Regina.
Sask Polytech is known for producing exceptional graduates and has over 6,000 students who are eligible to graduate across all four campuses this spring. Sask Polytech plays a vital role in fueling provincial growth by providing qualified, work-ready graduates to meet labour market demand. This is demonstrated by consistently high graduate employment rates. Sask Polytech currently has a 95 per cent graduate employment rate and 92 per cent Indigenous graduate employment rate.
