April 6, 2018 — Saskatchewan Construction Week (SCW) 2018 will run from April 11 to 17. The week celebrates the crucial contribution of construction to our provincial economy and culture. Events of interest will be taking place province-wide in recognition of the industry and its committed professionals.
“The construction sector is an important and critical component of Saskatchewan’s economy, providing rewarding careers for thousands across the province,” says Dr. Larry Rosia, Sask Polytech president and CEO. “We are proud to be a title sponsor of Saskatchewan Construction Week. Our talented faculty are committed to providing excellent training and hands-on experience for our students, enabling our graduates to make meaningful contributions to the economic strength and competitiveness of Saskatchewan.”
As an industry, construction represents 11% of provincial payroll and is the second largest private sector employer, providing well-paid, career-track employment that supports tens of thousands of families in Saskatchewan.
“Coming on as a Title Sponsor of Saskatchewan Construction Week last year and going forward, has made us realize the magnitude and impact Saskatchewan’s construction sector has on the economy. We are hoping that with connections in our communities and contacts in the construction industry, we can help spread awareness of how pivotal construction, as an employer, is to our province,” says Rick Monsees, Real Estate and Construction Lead at SCW Title Sponsor, MNP.
Construction requires the dedication of countless specialized skilled tradespeople and suppliers.
