This month we celebrate National Nursing Week, the School of Nursing 50th Anniversary and nursing awards
May 12, 2017 – May is a very exciting month for the School of Nursing. Saskatchewan Polytechnic is celebrating National Nursing Week, our School of Nursing 50th anniversary and Saskatchewan Registered Nurses’ Association (SRNA) awards.
This week is National Nursing Week, an annual celebration of education and careers in nursing. It coincides with our School of Nursing 50th anniversary on May 13 at Saskatoon campus.
Earlier this month over 200 of Saskatchewan’s Registered Nurses (RN), RN Nurse Practitioners, and health system partners gathered for the SRNA annual meeting, conference and awards celebration. At the celebration Saskatchewan Polytechnic faculty and students received six awards!
“The SRNA awards received last week showcase some of the ways Saskatchewan Polytechnic has been a leader in nursing education for 50 years.” says Dr. Anne Neufeld, provost and vice-president, Academic. “As citizens of Saskatchewan we have all been the beneficiaries of this nursing expertise.”
“This is a very exciting month for the School of Nursing as we celebrate National Nursing Week, 50 years of quality nursing education and are recognized by SRNA for our expertise,” says Dr. Netha Dyck, dean, School of Nursing and School of Health Sciences. “Our faculty, staff and students have much to celebrate. I’m very proud of what the School of Nursing has accomplished this year and the past 50 years.”
Congratulations to our SRNA award winners.
