Pronounced “pinnacle” and short for Prairie Polytechnic Innovation Network Accelerating Commercialization for Local Ecosystems, P2INACLE is a catalyst to transforming ideas into real-world solutions.
P2INACLE is a Saskatchewan Polytechnic-led applied research network bringing together the expertise and state-of-the-art facilities of six polytechnics across the Canadian Prairies—NAIT, Northwestern Polytechnic, Red Deer Polytechnic, RRC Polytech, Saskatchewan Polytechnic, and SAIT—to spark innovation, fuel economic growth, and drive transformation across the region and beyond.
By leveraging our collective strengths, we provide tangible outcomes that industries need to grow and thrive in today’s fast-moving world. From concept to commercialization, we streamline the journey with tailored support and real-world solutions. We don’t just talk innovation—we deliver it.

What we do
P2INACLE is more than a network—we’re a trusted source of applied innovation and training for industries tackling their biggest challenges. Our flexible, adaptive structure allows us to respond to new industry-driven challenges as they arise and support Canadian intellectual property development and retention for companies in Canada.
Strategic partnerships for sector innovation in 2025-26
In January 2025, P2INACLE launched a pilot to create solutions for the mining and critical minerals sector with the generous support of PrairiesCan and in partnership with International Minerals Innovation Institute (IMII). This pilot will continue through March 31, 2026.
Focusing on grand challenge areas in 2026 and beyond
P2INACLE’s future focus is three grand challenge areas:
- Critical minerals and mining - Maintain our mining and critical minerals focus to feed our growing population, boost the supply of critical minerals for the green and digital economies and support Canada’s critical mineral strategy;
- Energy - Expand our focus to energy to contribute to Canada becoming the world’s leading energy superpower and lead to a low carbon energy future; and
- Aerospace and defence - Extend our focus into aerospace and defence to help Canada build our capabilities to meet our NATO contribution.
