You will apply your previously learned theory and experience in health information management while working in a health care agency. Your practicum will focus on coding. You will have an opportunity to practice abstracting and presenting data.

Note: Students must register for this class no later than January 9, 2016. Travel may be required for practicum site

Prerequisites: Anatomy and Physiology 2 (APHY 262), Introduction to Microsoft Excel I (COMP 174), Introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint and Web Publishing (COMP 173), Clinical - Coding 2 (CLIN 258), Health Information Analysis 1 (HINF 161), Pathophysiology 3 (PATH 273), Workplace Communication (COMM 262)
