You will be introduced to basic computer concepts. The course content
includes computer components, hardware, software, working in a graphical user interface, file management, word processing and the Internet. The general skills you learn will prepare you for further courses, such as word processing, spreadsheets and presentation graphics.
This course currently has no offerings.
You will practice fundamental employability skills related to oral and
written communications. You will also practice employability skills related
to working effectively with others. You will learn personal employability
skills and the effect of attitudes and behaviours on a successful job search.
This course uses an asynchronous tool, allowing access to course material at a time that is convenient to the student.
This course is designed to give the technician in a repair shop the necessary knowledge to carry out the SGI inspection procedure as it pertains to school buses. Discussion includes latest changes to inspection criteria as well as live demonstrations and shop exercises. There will be an exam at the conclusion of the course with a 70% pass requirement. The course is 28 hours in length and consists of classroom lecture and in-shop activities on actual units.
Students are required to bring a copy of the CSA D250 School Bus Safety Standards manual. This can be ordered online or by calling 1-800-463-6727. PPE, including safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection and work gloves are also required.
