Plumbing/Pipefitter Apprentices receive domestic gas curriculum within their Apprenticeship training. As an existing Journeyperson, or a 4th year Apprentice that has successfully completed level four training, technicians have the option of challenging the Domestic Gas Exam. For those who select to not write the licensing exam immediately, this course is a solid refresher of the domestic gas curriculum. Once the refresher course is successfully completed, participants are able to apply for the domestic gas licensing exam through the Apprenticeship website.
One caution is that if they’ve been away from technical training for some time, (several years or more) they might choose to take the Full course (Gas Fitter Domestic/Refrigeration Mechanic CE_BD 4718).
