This online course is intended to assist students to prepare to write the Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan (TSASK) Limited Power Engineering (Fireman’s Certificate) exam. Topics include: Low pressure heat boilers, fuel and firing equipment, automatic controls, pumps, piping fittings, valves, steam and hot water heating, ventilation, basic electricity, and the Boiler Pressure Vessel Act and Regulations.

This is not a graded course; students receive confirmation of attendance from Saskatchewan Polytechnic.

Provincial testing is not included – contact the Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan (TSASK)(1-866-530-8599 to book an exam sitting).

You may register in ENGP 1805 up to 4 weeks before the end date but understand that online access ends on that date. You work through online course material on your own schedule and should be prepared to commit approximately 100 hours to complete the course. Communicate with your instructor by email for help. Students can also communicate with each through online discussions.
