Medical Device Reprocessing Education
Saskatchewan Polytechnic School of Nursing, Continuing Education has developed four home study (print based, tutor supported) courses on Medical Device Reprocessing.
Grade 12 and English Language Proficiency are pre-requisites for the courses.
A practicum component will be available after the completion of the four courses. Practicum dates are dependent on availability of practicum sites.
You will apply theory and skills in an approved medical device
reprocessing department. You will participate in the different aspects of
medical device reprocessing including decontamination, inspection,
assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage and transportation. You will
work under the supervision of a manager/supervisor and work directly with a medical device reprocessing technician. You will model professional
attitudes and practices in all aspects of your assigned duties.
Prerequisites: Medical Device Reprocessing - Sterilization, Storage and Distribution (MED 1604)
