This in-class course is intended to assist students to prepare to write the Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan Limited Power Engineering (Fireman’s Certificate) exam. Topics included: low pressure heat boilers, fuel and firing equipment, automatic controls, pumps, piping fittings, valves, steam and hot water heating, ventilation, basic electricity, and the Boiler Pressure Vessel Act and Regulations. Lab work is conducted to reinforce classroom work. There is a final exam; students receive a final grade from Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
